WALL-E is a quirky and interesting science-fiction comedy.
It is directed and co-written by Andrew Stanton and Jim Reardon.
The charm and wit of the movie is remarkable. The subtle way
which it deals with environmental issues and waste management
works very well. It is said to be one of the best movies of Pixar since
Toy Story. It begins with a shot of outer space that slowly zooms
into a waste-filled Earth, with skyscrapers built out of garbage that
is neatly compressed into boxes or bales and piled on top of one
another. In the barren landscape, only one creature moves around-
WALL-E, a robot. Though there are very few dialogues in the first
part, it is more interesting and fascinating than the second half.
It seems to reflect on happier times and shows a longing for nature
and the natural world.
