we have to measure magnification by getting both height of image and object in convex lens and concave . we have to measure image distance and then we can find image distance and then, we can calculate focal length of both the lens.

swati1508: we have to put both convex and concave lens at same time on optical bench?
poonam5050: no
poonam5050: name?
swati1508: then which lens we are supposed to place on bench?
swati1508: Swati
poonam5050: first convex then concave lens

Answer:

To determine focal length of a convex lens

Place the holder with the screen on the bench. The position of the screen should be such that the sharp image of the distant object is obtained on it. The difference between the position of the lens and the screen is equal to the focal length of the given convex lens.
