a)  $\frac{2}{3} + \frac{9}{2} + \frac{7}{4} + (-\frac{6}{3}) + (-\frac{3}{2})$

  $\frac{2}{3} + (-\frac{6}{3}) +\frac{9}{2} + (-\frac{3}{2}) + \frac{7}{4}$

 $-\frac{4}{3} + \frac{6}{2} + \frac{7}{4}$  

or, $-\frac{4}{3} + 3 +\frac{7}{4}$

By taking L.C.M of 3 and 4, we get 12

  = $\frac{-16 + 36 + 21}{12}$

  =  $\frac{41}{12}$

b) $(-\frac{5}{7}) +\frac{5}{6} +\frac{1}{7} + 3 + (-\frac{13}{6})$

  $(-\frac{5}{7}) + \frac{1}{7} + \frac{5}{6} + (-\frac{13}{6} ) + 3$

 $(-\frac{4}{7}) + (-\frac{8}{6} ) + 3$

or, $(-\frac{4}{7}) + \frac{4}{3} + 3$

By taking L.C.M of 7 and 3, we get 21

    = $\frac{-12 + 28 + 63}{21}$

    = $\frac{79}{21}$
