Ahmedabad: Gujarat started the white revolution in the country and ranks at the top in the organized milk processing industry. But the state ranks fourth when it comes to per-capita availability of milk daily. The latest figures disbursed by the minister of state for agriculture, Sudarshan Bhagat, in the Lok Sabha, two days ago, suggest that on an average, in Punjab a person gets access to 1,032 grams of milk every day compared to only 545 grams per day available to someone residing in Gujarat.
Even residents of Haryana and Rajasthan have access to more milk per day 877 grams and 704 grams, respectively than those in Gujarat.
