Reason of absence of atmosphere on moon

The cause is that the gravity on Moon is one sixth of that of the earth so there is not enough gravity to hold air and other atmospherical molecules in its atmosphere . ... A combination of low gravity and a strong solar wind, which excites the molecules and blows them off.

the atmosphere is absent on moon
because,,,
the low gravitational power of the moon and also because,,
the gases involved in atmosphere have rms speed greater than moon so that they escape from Moon's surface

that's why the atmosphere is absent on the moon

sameerptel: what is rms?
Anonymous: rms speed is the ' root mean square' speed
Anonymous: this speed is possess by every planet but that is variable for every planet nd the planets which have higher rms speed than gases only those planets can have atmosphere because the gases have to possess higher rms than planet for their escape
