Reason why children of illiterate parents perform better than children of literate parents

While some may speculate the illiterate parents drive their children to get the most out of their educational opportunities. And I'm sure that is part of it. I think the children see for themselves the possibilities of education and the doors it opens. Basically they become self motivated. While the children of literature parents often take education for granted because they aren't faced with the huge diffrence a good education can make in the job market.
