Reasoning behind IUPAC nomenclature?

IUPAC recommends that a compound should have its nomenclature such that it avoids complexity as much as possible without losing generality. So IUPAC designed such conventions to make things simpler for us.

Like if you take the shortest carbon chain, then the substituent names will get very complex and thus inconvenient. Also, as I said that IUPAC avoids complex nomenclature as much as it can, so it also allows to modify its conventions for some compounds where a simpler (and LOGICAL) nomenclature is possible by doing so (for instance, common nomenclature terms like iso, neo are allowed to be used in IUPAC system of nomenclature).

⭕ Reason behind IUPAC nomenclature is that because there is millions of compounds found on the earth. So it becomes difficult to find a particular compounds in millions of compounds and also difficult to find the properties of that particular compounds. IUPAC that's why giving a particular name for a particular compounds accordingly to their properties and behavior . this helps us a lot to find the compounds which was needed without wasting time. IUPAC is the international organization which only works for the nomenclature of the compounds.
