Reasons of declining enrollment in govt schools
Answers
Answer:
Every year, the government spends more than Rs 1 lakh on a student studying in a public school, by providing him free uniform, mid-day meals and other facilities, while it spends Rs 15,000 on a private student annually.
"We try our best to help our students develop and improve in every way, but sometimes, unfavorable family conditions hinder our efforts," said Anjana, a basic junior teacher, adding that the government should not be blamed as parents' involvement was a major factor of children's growth.
"Parents prefer to send their children to private schools as teachers of government schools are often appointed for some other work, which leads to disruption of studies. Vacant teaching posts may also be a reason," said Man Singh Thakur, deputy director of elementary education
In spite of the government providing many facilities, students still prefer private institutions as they offer a better standard of education, participation of teachers, emphasis on personal development and co-curricular activities," said retired teacher Om Lata
