Sixty-five million years ago, more than three-fourths of all plant and animal species living on Earth became extinct. This event is known as the K-T mass extinction because it occurred at the boundary between the Cretaceous (K) and Tertiary (T) time periods.

K/T extinction period was the period in which dinosaurs became extinct. It was a massacre. No reason of that extinction is yet proved scientifically, but most of the scientists believe that many meteors crashed on Earth, resulting in massive explosions, which in turn, led to their extinction.
