reasons for the spread of Buddhism are as follows
1) influence of time
6th century BC was an ideal time for the spread of Buddhism .it was a time when people were fed up with the super superstition, Complex rituals ,rits and the blind beliefs. the message of the Buddha came as a welcome relief . brahmanism was easily drawn to put this by the simplicity of its fate and its religious tolerance.
2)simple doctorines
as compared with Jainism Buddhism was essentially simple.it did not confused the people rather it's our is 'Satya','eightfold path', and 'concept of nonviolence' was so simple that people could easily understand and follow. the people already fed up with brahminical manipulation of Verdict religion came to accept Buddhism as a soothing and refreshing change.
3)simple language
The Buddha spread his message in the simple language in the masses of people was easily understood and people accepted it after being convinced about it simple philosophy and the pleasing message.
4)no caste harried
Buddhism did not believe in caste distinction at a post that caste system and regarded people of all casted equally. it followers sat together forgetting their caste and discussed ethics and morality . non Brahmin in particular wete drawn to its fold .its popularity spread by leaps and bounds.
