Shramdaan Divas
Explanation:
On January 30, 2020, the students of Vidya Vikas Public School gathered together to celebrate Shramdaan Divas. Shramdaan means a voluntary contribution involving physical effort. It is a way of helping your community and contributing to help and change the environment around you for the better. Our school places high emphasis on Shramdaan and we celebrate this occasion on January 30 every year.
On this day, the students organize themselves into groups and volunteer in various activities in our society. One group went to the Old Age Home near our school where we read and help write letters for the elders. We also helped clean the campus and did some gardening.
A group of higher secondary students took charge of cleaning the nearby lake of water hyacinth. They were given proper gloves and other equipment to protect themselves in the activity. We also had a group that cleaned the roadsides in front of the Government Hospital. Some students even painted the outside compound wall with beautiful art to make it look colorful.
At the end of the day, we returned to school with a sense of satisfaction and achievement.
