In the course of studying the lesser explored Eastern Ghats of the country, researchers have managed to discover a whole new species of gecko in Chhattisgarh, which is being seen for the first time in the world.

This lizard found in Kanger Ghati National Park closely resembles the rock gecko otherwise found in the Western Ghats, it also shows a 10 per cent divergence compared to the range of related species.
