I am Krish. I am very passionate about the environment. I am here to debunk the myth that development encompasses the destruction of the environment.
The quest for civilization led to the Industrial Revolution. People were keen to improve the quality of their lives. Development was necessary for the sufficient production of goods and services. People built bridges, factories, houses and offices. However, development has also had adverse effects on the environment we live in.
Numerous forests have been cleared to pave way for constructions. Water has been diverted from lakes and rivers to build dams. Pollution has increased tremendously from the combustion of fossil fuels. Plastics and toxic waste are dumped in landfills and oceans.
There is a construction boom in major cities in the world. Thousands of skyscrapers are built every day. There is little attention paid to the environmental consequences that are occurring. In major cities across the world, pollution is a huge problem. Trees should be planted and parks established to purify the air we breathe.
