Last week I visited my grandfather wo lived in a tiny rural area in Bihar. the trip there was pleasant and I was sure I was gonna have a fun vacation. on my way to my grandpa's house I witnessed a man throwing a woman onto the dusty path and brutally beating her. Two children who I assume were her children were crying hysterically and begging the man to stop. the man seemed to be in a drunken stupor and his steps were sloppy yet his hand was harsh.
I told the driver to stop the car and I opened the car to get out. the driver stopped me and said 'sahib you should not intervene. the guy whos beating up the woman is drunk and he always does this. he will kill anyone who tries to stop him.' but I rushed forward and shouted at the man and asked him to stop. the man's attention was now on me. as I got a closer look I saw that the guy had a stocky build and had a few inches on me. he rushed forward and swung a massive blow towards my head. but I ducked and his fist went swinging past my head. I guess the self defense lessons paid off because i was able to defend my self against the man. sure he was strong but he was drunk and I was a trained person.
suddenly I heard sirens. the taxi driver had mustered up the courage to call the cops on the man. he was arrested and i headed to my grandfathers home with a story to tell
