I shall be very thankful to you if you kindly publish my view on the above mentioned topic in your newspaper.
It is observed that some of the children in the age group of 5-14 in villages remain either at home or work in the fields or simply loiter in the streets. At this age, these children should be at school. They do not go to school either due to poverty or disinterestedness. Those who give the reason of poverty should know that school education is totally free. Also the children at school get free midday meal.
Regarding disinterestedness, the parents and the educated people in the villages should motivate the children to join school.
Those who work in the fields should be made to understand that, that is not age to work.
The government should send counsellors to counsel the parents and the children about the importance of education. Some parents feel that they get help of children in the fields but they don't understand that their children will remain illiterate and will not be able to earn their living of their own. These illiterate and unskilled children will be a big burden on the society when they grow up. The only solution is that the parents and children should be made aware that the elementary education is free.
I hope the government and the other concerned persons will take necessary steps to solve the problem.
