Recirculating aquaculture system (ras)- its construction and operation
Answers
Recirculating aqua culture is an approach used for breeding fish and other aquatic creatures by reusing the water already used for the culture. This approach is based on filtration of water by mechanical and biological means. Recirculation can be carried out by appropriate tank design with suitable size and shape, water depth, self cleaning ability etc.Tanks may be of circular pattern or square pattern depending upon the type of the fish used. In recirculation the water is managed continuously to remove the decayed remnants of the fish and to provide continuous oxygen supply. From the outlet aperture of the fish tanks the water is carried to the mechanical filter and then to the biological filter before it is oxygenated and deprived of carbon dioxide and exchanged to the fish tanks which is the basic assumption of recirculation.
Construction and Operation of Recirculating Aquaculture System:
Recirculating Aquaculture System is a process which is used for the breeding fish and the aquatic animals by reusing the water which is already used in the culture. This process is carried by the use of proper tank design with appropriate size and shape, depth of the water, self-clearing ability etc.
There are different types of tanks can be used like circular, square pattern etc depending on the fishes. This process is based on the filtration of the water biologically and mechanically.
