From the very beginning of our species we understood that there has to be law and order. But what not all of us understand is that maintaining order cannot compromise our freedom and liberty. That’s how autocracy and totalitarianism were born. 75 years ago, the United Nations were created to put an and to violations of human rights, to maintain law and order, life and liberty of all Peoples. Sadly, it has failed. In this very moment, numerous governments and private citizens alike are violating human rights. But what is even more alarming is that they are abandoning their conscience, respect for life and liberty of others. They abandoned the sacred principles of love and happiness for all, black and white, poor and rich alike. In their stead, they adopted another set of tenets- where my life is more important than yours and where your happiness matter less that mine.
