Muscle twitch means a single contraction which is caused by a threshold stimulus.

The threshold stimulus is the smallest stimulus strength. The delay between the stimulation and the physical contraction is known as latent period.

In case of the isometric recordings, the muscle tension is measured by keeping the muscle at a fixed length. The electrical stimulation will result in the contraction of the muscles in vitro.
