I have always been bad at keeping promises . But when they truly meant something to me I would keep it . I remember my father would make me promise that I would get good grades the next semester . I only listened . The word " promise" did not mean much to me then . I remember I would get bad grades and he would yell at me telling me I broke his promise , while in reality , I never cared much for learning I never cared much for the way our education system was structured , ergo I did not keep the promise . Slowly , I grew older ! bit by bit I started understanding myself in a more deep and intimate manner . My best friend and I had a fairly deep discussion about our future ,and we promised each other we wouldn't turn into strangers . I never thought that situation would ever come . We had always been friends , nevertheless , I always kept her promise , and no matter what wouldn't let anything useless get in the way of our friendship . About two years from those days I sit on my empty bedroom writing this . She is a stranger now . We barely talk , barely connect . I did go way beyond to stop this from happening , but what can I do ? its quiet over . But true friendships never die . And I hope roses bloom in the grave of our friendship , and ill try and be better at keeping promises .
