Given : rectangle ABCD is reflected over the x-axis to form rectangle A'B'C'D

To Find :  length of side A'D'

Solution:

Reflective images are congruent to original hence

Length of A'D'  = Length of AD

A = ( - 4 , - 2)

D =  ( - 4 , - 4)

Length of  AD  = √(-4-(-4))² + (-2 - (-4))²  =  √ 0  + 4

= √4

= 2

Length of AD = 2

Length on A'D' = 2

Step-by-step explanation:

Question

Rectangle ABCD is reflected over the x-axis to form rectangle A'B'C'D . what length of side A'D.

To Find

Length of side A'D' ?

Solution

Reflective images are congruent of original hence

Length of A'D' = Length of AD

  • A = (-4, -2)
  • D = (-4, -4)

Length of AD =

 \sf(-4 - (-4)) + (-2- (-4))^2 </p><p> \\ \sf:\implies  \sqrt{4} </p><p> \\ \sf:\implies   \bold \red 2

★ Length of AD = 2

★ Length if A'D' = 2
