then

area of rectangle =2*(area of square)

length*breadth=2*(side*side)

(a+12)*(a+8)=2*(a*a)

a^2+96+20a=2a^2

a^2-20a-96=0

a^2-(24-4)a-96=0

a^2-24a+4a-96=0

a(a-24)+4(a-24)=0

(a+4)(a-24)=0

a=24

then perimeter of square=4*side
