Answer:

Length of rectangle = 50 m

Let breadth be x .

So , perimeter

= 50 + x + 50 + x

= 100 + 2x

Side of square = 20m

perimeter

= 4 * 20

= 80 m

We see in case of rectangle , that whatever value of breadth will be it will be greater than tha perimeter of square .

NoTe :- Distance can not be taken in negative value . It is always positive .

area of square = area of rectangle

l x b = 400

50 x b =400

b=8m

perimeter of square = 4 x side = 4 x 20 = 80 m

perimeter of rectangle = 2(l+b) = 2 ( 50+8)= 2 x 58 = 116m

perimeter of rectangle is greater than square
