rectangle has the same area as another, whose length is 6 m more and breadth is 4m less. . It has also the same area as the third, whose length is m more and
e 5 m less. Find the length and breadth or the original rectangle

Step-by-step explanation:

Let x and y be length and breadth of the original rectangle.

For 2nd rectangle, length = x+6 and breadth = y-4.

xy = (x + 6) (y - 4)

xy = xy + 6y - 4x - 24

6y - 4x - 24 = xy - xy

6y - 4x - 24 = 0

3y - 2x - 12 = 0 ...(1)

For 2nd rectangle, length = x+8 and breadth = y-5.

xy = (x + 8) (y - 5)

xy = xy + 8y - 5x - 40

8y - 5x - 40 = xy - xy

8y - 5x - 40 = 0 ...(2)

Solving (1) and (2),

x = 24 m

y = 20 m

Hence, length and breadth of the original rectangle are 24 m and 20 m.
