Rectangular component of vector P of magnitude 9

Value of N is 18

Explanation:

1)  We have,

Magnitude of OP is 9 units.

Then, Angle between \overrightarrow{OP} and \overrightarrow{OA} is 60 degree.

Then, Component of OP along OA is given by

|OA|cos(\theta)=9*cos(60^{\circ})=\frac{9}{2}=\frac{18}{4}

Here, Value of Rectangular component of OP vector of magnitude of 9 units along OA vector is 18/4 units.

\frac{N}{4}=\frac{18}{4}\\ \\=>N=18

Hence, Value of N is 18.

However, If we need to find the component along of vector P vector along OB then it remains same since angle subtended to it is same.

That is, Required component is 18/4 too.
