length of park is 70 m
breadth is 50m
so area will be length ×breadth
=50×70
=3500
side of sq. flowerbed is 40 m
area will be side ×side
=40*40
=1600
now area of remaining park is 3500-1600
=1900m

The area of remaining park is 1900 m^{2}.

Step-by-step explanation:

As given in the question that the length (l) of a rectangular park is 70 m and breadth (b) is 40 m.

We have to find the area of park.

We know that,

Area of rectangle = l x b

Area of rectangular park = 70 x 50

                                         = 3500 m^{2}

Now, according to the question,

A square flower bed of 40 m in the middle.

side (a) of square flower bed = 40 m

As we know that,

Area of square = a x a

Area of square flower bed = 40 x 40

                                             = 1600 m^{2}

Area of remaining park = 3500 - 1600

                                        = 1900 m^{2}

Therefore, the area of remaining park is 1900 m^{2}.
