rectangular plot is 35 M long and 13m broad road of uniform width of 2.5 M runs along the boundary of the plot inside it find the cost of paving the roads with bricks at rupees 10 per square metre

Length of the rectangular plot = 35 m


Breadth of the rectangular plot = 13 m


Area of the rectangular plot = 35 * 13 = 455 sq. m


Length of the plot excluding the road = 35 - ( 2.5 + 2.5 )

Length of the plot excluding the road = 35 - 5 = 30 m


Breadth of the plot excluding the road = 13 - ( 2.5 + 2.5 )

Breadth of the plot excluding the road = 13 - 5 = 8 m


Area of the plot excluding the road = 30 * 8 = 240 sq. m


Area of the road = 455 - 240 = 215 sq. m

Cost of paving the road at Rs 10/m^2 = 215 * 10 = Rs 2150
