Red blood cells no nucleus,then why do we call cells?

It allows the red blood cell to contain more haemoglobin (and, therefore, carry more oxygen molecules). It also allows the cell to have its distinctive bi-concave shape which aids diffusion - this shape would not be possible if thecell had a nucleus in the way

Red blood cells have Nucleus during early phases of erythropoiesis. but the nucleus is disappear during development in order to provide more space for hemoglobin. Red blood cells have nucleus in early stages of their synthesis. hence they are called cells.✔✔✔
