Explanation:

Sodium hydroxide (NaOh) is a strong basic compound. Red litmus paper when dropped in acidic medium does not give any change but when dropped in basic medium, it changes its colour to blue. Likewise, when blue litmus is dropped in basic medium then it shows no change but when it is dropped in acidic medium, it changes its colour to . Sodium hydroxide is a base and thus it has no effect on a blue litmus paper but it changes red litmus to blue.
