Answer:

x = 30°

y = 30°

z = 60°

Explanation:

Finding the value of z :

  • According to the 2nd law of reflection, angle of incidence and angle of reflection are always equal.

Here,

  • ∠i = XNM
  • ∠r = YNO

∴ XNM = YNO

60° = z

Value of z is 60°.

Finding the values of x :

As per the figure, normal is the perpendicular line and making a right angle . Measure of right angle is 90°. So, we can say that,

⇒ PNX = 90°

⇒ XNM + MNP = 90°

⇒ 60° + x = 90°

⇒ x = 90° - 60°

x = 30°

Value of x is 30°.

Finding the value of y :

We'll find the value of y in the same way we found the value of x.

As per the figure, normal is the perpendicular line and making a right angle . Measure of right angle is 90°. So, we can say that,

⇒ PNY = 90°

⇒ YNO + ONP = 90°

⇒ z + y = 90°

⇒ 60° + y = 90°

⇒ y = 90° - 60°

y = 30°

Value of y is 30°.
