Reduce each of the following rational numbers in standard form:
-45/30
16/-36
-3/-15
68/-119

Answer:

1. -45/30 = -3/2

{reduced to simplest form i.e., divided by thier HCF (15 in this case) }

2. 16/-36 = -4/9

{Shifted minus sign to numerator (standard form of rational number) and simplified}

3. -3/-5 = 3/5

{both negative signs will get cancelled resulting in positive number and since 3/5 is the simplest form we did not divide it any further}

4. 68/-119 = -4/7

{Shifted negative sign to numerator and simplified to simplest form}
