ANSWER :-

⇒ 6 years : 9 months = 2 years : 3 months

⇒ 9 years : 6 months = 3 years : 2 months

EXPLANATION :-

⇒ It's given that we have to reduce 6 years and 9 months and 9 years  6 months in its lowest term. So firstly we have to write the 2 numbers in ratio form and than divide it by one number ( a number that can divide 2 numbers at a time).

SOLVING :-

Lets divide the 2 given numbers into 2 different ratios.

RATIO 1 :

⇒ 6 years : 9 months

6 and 9 can be divisible by 3, so divide them by 3.

⇒ 6 years : 9 months

⇒ 2 years : 3 months

RATIO 2 :

⇒ 9 years : 6 months

9 and 6 can be divisible by 3, so divide them by 3.

⇒ 9 years : 6 months

⇒ 3 years : 2 months

Answer:

27 : 38

6 years and 9 months = 6 × 12 + 9 = 81 months.

9 years and 6 months = 9 × 12 + 6 = 114 months.

So, the ratio = 81 : 114 = 27 : 38
