Friction wastes a lot of energy inside the machines. When there is friction between the moving machine parts more energy is used to overcome the friction and the energy gets wasted. When more energy is used we will have to burn more fuels like coal and petroleum. This will in turn pollute the atmosphere and harm the environment.

If the friction is brought to very low level, we won’t waste extra energy to do a work and hence it will save our fuels and environment.
