reduction of 20% in the price enables to buy 2.5 kg more for Rs. 100. What is the reduced price
Answers
Answer:
Let the price per kg of sugar be x.
So for Rs.160 .160/x kg can be bought.
Now price has reduced by 20% ie for 160/x qty one has to pay only 4/5 of 160 or Rs.128.
With the difference in price of Rs 32/- (2.5 kg) or 5/2 kg of sugar can be got.
So with the new price: For Rs.128 ….128 × 5/2 ÷32 or 10 kgs of sugar can be bought or totally for Rs.160/- 10+2.5 or 12.5 kgs of sugar could be bought.
So originally 10 kgs of sugar could be bought for Rs.160/-
If the price is reduced by 20% and the money you save on that reduction allows you to buy 2,5kg more rice this means the following:
Total money spent remains the same =160
2,5kg at the new price costs 20% of 160
Or 2,5kg rice at the new price =32
2,5 can be written as 5/2
So
5/2 . new price=32
5. New price = 64
New price = 64/5= 12,8
New price = 80% of old price= 4/5 . Old price
5/4 .new price = old price
5/4. 12,8= 16
Original price was 16
Productivity maximized.
20% = 2.5
100% = 12.5
Orinal suger = 12.5- 2.5= 10kg
Original price = 160/10 =Rs 16 per kg

A reduction of 20% in the price of apples enables a buyer to get one dozen more for Rs 50.Find the reduced price per dozen of apples?
Let price per kg be p and weight we can buy on new price be x.
so new price = p - 20%p = 0.8p.
so 0.8p * x = 160
p * x = 200 …(a)
now earlier for old price per kg i.e. p we get 2.5 kg less for same cost 160 so
p * (x-2.5) = 160
x = (160+2.5p)/p
put this in (a) equation
p * (160+2.5p)/p = 200
p = (200–160)/2.5 = 16
so our answer is 16
If you are a small business, we are here to help.
For 2.5 kg 160 Rs
For 1 kg. 64 [20% reduction]
Original price 64*100/80
Original price = 80 Rs.
If u cross check 80*20% =16
80-16 =64 [20%reduction price]
(20/100) *160=32 rs, this is given for extra 2.5 kg
So for 1 kg he paid 12.8 rs
So actual price is x*80/100=12.8( here 20% reduction so take 100–20= 80)
Ans is x=16
R = Rate, M = Mass
R x M =160
.8 R x (M + 2.5) = 160
R x M = .8 R x (M + 2.5)
Divide both sides by R, distribute the right side, and bring like terms together.
.2 M = 2
M=10
Therefore R=16.
