The redox reactions can be defined in the following ways.
i) Redox reactions are the reactions in which the oxidation and reduction process are carried out simultaneously i.e. one reactant is getting reduced while the other gets oxidized. Such reactions are called oxidation reduction reactions or redox reactions.
ii) Redox reactions can be defined as the reactions in which if a substance gains oxygen and gets oxidized and the other substance gains hydrogen and getting reduced.
