Price of each( i.e. 1) pen = Rs 2.60

Therefore, price of x pens = Rs 2.60 * x

Also, Price of each greeting  card = Rs 0.80

Therefore, price of y greeting cards = Rs 0.80 * y

Now, According to the question, the pens cost Rs. 12 more than the greeting cards.

So, we get the following equation:

2.6 x = 12+ 0.8 y

or, 2.6 x - 0.8 y = 12

Price of each( i.e. 1) pen = Rs 2.60

Therefore, price of x pens = Rs 2.60 * x

Also, Price of each greeting  card = Rs 0.80

Therefore, price of y greeting cards = Rs 0.80 * y

Now, According to the question, the pens cost Rs. 12 more than the greeting cards.

So, we get the following equation:

=> 2.6 x = 12+ 0.8 y

=> 2.6 x - 0.8 y = 12

Hope it helps!
