Answer:

Reema's age = 10 years, and her mother's age = 40 years.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let, the present age of Reema be x years. So according to the given condition, the age of her mother would be 4x years.

After 5 years, Reema's age = x + 5

and her mother's age = 4x + 5

But it's given that it would be 3 times of the age Reema would be then.

⇒ 4x + 5 = 3(x + 5)

⇒ 4x + 5 = 3x + 15

⇒ 4x - 3x = 15 - 5

⇒ x = 10 years

Hence, present age of Reema is 10 years. Now present age of her mother = 4x = 4(10) = 40 years.

Solution :

Let the present age of Reema = x

Let the present age of Reema's Mother = 4x

After five (5) years :

Reema age = x + 5

Reema's mother age = 4x + 5

4x + 5 = 3 ( x + 5 )

4x = 3x + 15 - 5

4x - 3x = 10

x = 10

∴ Present age of Reema = x

                                          = 10 years.

  Present age of Reema's mother = 4x

                                                          = 4 ( 10 )

                                                          =  40 years.
