Maximum numbers of rows which is used to plant 246 plants is 41 rows.

Solution:

To find the number of plants that can be planted into rows,

Factors of 246=2 \times 3 \times 41

Hence the number of plants are divided into 2 categories therefore, the number of plants that can be planted is either

2 rows with \bold{(41 \times 3)} plants in each.

                          OR

3 rows with \bold{(41 \times 2)} plants in each

                          OR

41 rows with \bold{(2 \times 3)} plants in each which is the maximum number of rows.
