Given:

Reena has an 8/11 metre long ribbon. she wants to cut in the smaller piece of 2/11 metres each how many smaller pieces of this ribbon will she have?

To find:

How many smaller pieces of this ribbon will she have?

Solution:

The total length of ribbon Reena has = \frac{8}{11} \:m

The length of each smaller piece Reena wanted to cut in = \frac{2}{11}\:m

Therefore,

After cutting, the no. of smaller ribbons Reena will have is,

=  \frac{Length\:of\:bigger \:ribbon}{Length\:of\:1 \:small\:ribbon}

= \frac{\frac{8}{11} }{\frac{2}{11} }

= \frac{8}{11} \times \frac{11}{2}

= \frac{8}{2}

= \bold{4}

Thus, Reena will have 4 smaller pieces of the bigger ribbon.
