Let the amount availabe with lady is Rs.x

Amount spend hankies and given to beggar=x/2+1

remaining amount=x-(x/2+1)=x/2-1=x-2/2

expenses for lunch (x-2/2)×1/2=x-2/4

amount of tip=Rs2

Amount remained after lunch=(x-2/2)-x-2/4-2

=2x-4-x+2-8/4

=x-10/4

amount spend for books=1/2×x-10/4=x-10/8

bus fare=rs3

Amount left=x-10/4-x-10/8-3

=2x-20-x+10-24/8

=x-34/8

A/Q....

amount left =re 1

x-34/8=1

cross multiplication ,

x-34=8

x=42

Therefore the original amount with lady was Rs.42

Reena had initially Rs.450

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the Reena had x rupees initially

It is given that half of the money she spent on buying fruit

So amount of money she spent on buying fruit =\frac{x}{2}

So amount of money she had left =x-\frac{x}{2}=\frac{x}{2}

Now she give Rs.75 to beggar

So money left = \frac{x}{2}-75

Now she spent \frac{1}{3} of remaining money on rickshaw fair

So amount spent on rickshaw fair will be \frac{1}{3}\times (\frac{x}{2}-75)=(\frac{x}{6}-25)

So amount of money left =(\frac{x}{2}-75)-(\frac{x}{6}-25)=\frac{x}{3}-50

According to question left money is 100

So \frac{x}{3}-50=100

\frac{x}{3}=150

x = Rs.450
