The place of women has always been a much debated topic. During Aristotle's times, in the 17th century, the perspectives were much more narrow and came from more conservative ideologies than prevalent today. In such a situation, Aristotle voiced his disapproval of women going for higher education. The times have improved a lot since then. Today, people understand the value of education for girls equally to boys but one can not assure that the change is hundred percentage. The fact that a campaign like 'Beti Bachao Beti Padhao' was necessary in this century, shows how even today we have to validate the need for women's education.
