- It is an old saying that there is no substitute for hard work.
- In history we can see many examples where many great empires were built on the base of hard work and skills like Mauryan, Gupta etc.
- These empires were like any other empire in the beginning but there eagerness to learn new skills, respect for hard work pays them well. e.g. Magadh Mahajanpad, there were 16 Mahajanpadas but Magadh come out victorious and it is one of the reasons for their success.
- In modern times, when we look at Japan, a small island Asian country emerged as one of the most developed country in the world. This country suffered from nuclear attacks, frequent earthquakes and tsunamis but still, it is the respect of hard work, skills of various trades and crafts that has contributed Japan to civilized and develop society.

Trades and craft for any society is needed for the development of it. They are like the power engine of any economy in particular and country in overall development.
The respect for hard work skills of various trades and crafts contribute to civilized society in following ways:-
- Employment Generation - These trades and crafts in the society will generate employment in an economy which eventually raise standard of living of every individual.
- Development of Society- Respecting the hard work skills of these trades and crafts eventually lead to development of society by virtue of generating employment and making the society prosperous.
- Lead to Innovations - Also, these hard work skills pays off in the form of Innovations. Innovations lead to comfortability in the economic system which often helps in advancement of technology.
- Capital generation- For any economy to run, it eventually require capital. Formation of capital is only possible through trades and crafts.
