When I first researched about the Children Rights issue, I knew about some aspects of the Children's Rights movement but I had no idea that it would be such an issue that would was not addressed in many major countries. When I think about homeless children, it can easily be related to me because I am still a child, for a child to have no home, to starve, and to be violated against would be the worst case possible. I was glad that throughout this project, we not only had the opportunity to research about different organizations other than Casa Alianza, which was our defender's organization, we had a chance to see that somehow everyone can be involved in making a difference to the world. Our defender, Bruce Harris, saved many lives and in my opinion, through his work; he was revolutionist, he established homes and a sense of security and governmental support for the children in Guatemala and all parts of South America.  Even though his legacy is short lived because of his inappropriate behavior, he still changed many lives of the children in South America/Mexico. While researching I was most surprised about how much the United Declarations of Human Rights is making a change to the world and how individuals are trying to gain governmental support. I knew that the United States has great Children Right's programs that secure the safety of children, but many countries don't have those federal laws. With the United Declarations of Human Rights it could be a stepping stone for major countries or third world country to start a path in which Children's Rights wouldn't be an issue, if there were federal policies that established the safety of children then a lot of the problems would be nonexistent. As far as leadership, most activists and defenders of this cause come out as leaders to support this issue and because it is against the government; it is very dangerous, but a leader should be someone who is passionate to change the world, to change lives, that they motivate and change society's self greed into compassion in order to stop Children violations worldwide.
