Define reflection of light :-

Reflection is the change in direction of a wavefront at an interface between two different media so that the wavefront returns into the medium from which it originated. Common examples include the reflection of light, sound and water waves.

Law :-

This is called the law of reflection. So, if a wave hits a mirror at an angle of 36°, it will be reflected at the same angle (36°). An incident ray of light hits a plane mirror at an angle and is reflected back off it. The angle of reflection is equal to the angle of incidence. Both angles are measured from the normal.

Types :-

The reflection of light can be roughly categorized into two types of reflection. Specular reflection is defined as light reflected from a smooth surface at a definite angle, whereas diffuse reflection is produced by rough surfaces that tend to reflect light in all directions.

Biography of Reflection of light :-

It is made up of two plane mirrors mounted in a long tube. Both mirrors are set parallel to each other at each corner of the tube and at an angle of 45° to the path of the light rays. Light from the object is reflected through 90° by each mirror before entering the eye of an observer.
