Answer:

Absolute refractive index of a medium is the ratio of speed of light in vacuum to the speed of light in that medium .Mathematically n = c/v

according to the question,

THE REFRACTIVE INDEX OF DIAMOND WITH RESPECT TO REFRACTIVE INDEX OF GLASS =1.5

gNd=1.5

velocity of light in glass/velocity of light in diamond=1.5.........…(1)

absolute refractive index of diamond=velocity of light in vacuum/velocity of light in diamond

from (1).....

absolute refractive index of diamond=3 3 x 10^8 m/s ÷ 10(velocity of light in glass)/15.

=4.5 × 10^8(velocity of light in glass)
