Answer:

To find the refractive index of glass with respect to water..

We have,

Refractive index of water wrt air= 4/3

Refractive index of glass wrt to air = 3/2

Then,

Refractive index of air wrt water

= 1/(refractive index of water wrt air)

= 1/(4/3) = 3/4

Therfore, Refractive index of glass wrt water

= (Refractive index of glass wrt air) × (refractive index of air wrt water)

= (3/2) × (3/4)

= 9/8...

To find the speed of light in water..

We have..

Refractive index, n = c/v

Where n is refractive index, c is the speed of light and v is phase velocity of light in the medium.

The refractive index of water, n = 1.33

This implies 1.33 = 2.99 x 10 ^8/v

Therefore, v = 2.25 x 10^8 metres per second

Which is the speed of light in glass

Hope it helps you.
