Answer:

here

10x – 10y = 64

10x = 64 + 10y

x =  \frac{64 + 10y}{10}  \\

now we put the above value of x in equation. 40x –18y=320

40( \frac{64 + 10y}{10})  - 18y = 320 \\

256 + 40y - 18y = 320 \\ 22y = 320 - 256 \\ 22y = 64 \\ y =  \frac{64}{22}  \\  \\ y =  \frac{32}{11}  \\

now put value of y in equation

10x–10y= 64

10x - 10( \frac{32}{11} ) = 64 \\  \\  \frac{110x - 320}{11}  = 64 \\  \\ 110x - 320 = 704 \\ 110x = 704 + 320 \\ 110x = 1024

x =  \frac{1024}{110}  \\  \\ x =  \frac{512}{55}
