4x^2-16xy-3x-12y
= 4x^2 - 3x - 16xy - 12y
= x ( 4x - 3 ) - 4y ( 4x - 3 )
= ( 4x - 3 ) ( x - 4y )

Hope it helps you :)

The answer to the factorisation is, (x-4y) (4x-3)

Given : The algebraic expression is, (4x²-16xy-3x+12y)

To find : The factorisation of the given algebraic expression. (by regrouping)

Solution :

We can simply solve this mathematical problem by using the following mathematical process. (our goal is to factorise the given algebraic expression)

Here, we have to regroup the given algebraic expression, which means we have to rearrange the terms of the expression so that we can take common for factorisation.

So,

= 4x²-16xy-3x+12y

= 4x²-3x-16xy+12y (regrouping)

= x (4x-3) - 4y (4x-3)

= (x-4y) (4x-3)

(This cannot be further simplified. That's why this will be considered as the final result.)

Hence, the answer to the factorisation is, (x-4y) (4x-3)
