Since Rehman and Roma are moving towards each other, the speed as which they are approaching each other will be the sum of their speeds.

Combined speed = (8 + 13)km/h = 21 km/h

Time taken = 36 min = 36/60 hours = 0.6 hours

Let the distance between them initially be x km

Time = Distance/Speed
 0.6   = x/21

      x = 0.6x21 = 12.6

The distance between them = 12.6 km

Solution :-

Time at which Rehman and Roma meet = (Distance between both of them/Relative speed)

First, we have to convert 36 minutes into hour.

36 minutes = 36/60 hour

⇒ 36/60 = Distance between both of them/(8 km/hr + 13 km/hr)

⇒ 36/60 = Distance between both of them/21 km/hr

⇒ Distance between both of them = (36*21)/60

⇒ 756/60

⇒ 12.6 km
