Area of a square = Side × Side

Area of a rectangle = Length × Width

Given, side of the square tile is 12 cm and the dimensions of the rectangular wall 240 cm and 120 cm respectively.

Area of the square = ( 12 × 12 ) sq.cm

ᅠᅠㅤᅠᅠᅠㅤᅠᅠᅠᅠᅠᅠᅠᅠ= 144 sq.cm

Area of the 4 rectangular walls = 4 ( Length × Width ) = 4 ( 240 × 120 ) sq.cm = 4(28800) sq.cm = 115200 sq.cm

The no. of tiles = Area of the 4 rectangular walls / Area of the square tile = 115200 / 144 = 800

800800 square tiles were used to cover the walls of Rehman's bedroom.
