i=40000×3×10/100=400×3×10=

interest paid by her for 2nd= amount after 3 year - amount after 2 year
=40000(1+10/100)³-40000(1+10/100)²
=40000{(1+1/10)³-(1+1/0)²}
=40000{(11/10)³-(11/10)²}
=40000{1331/1000-121/100}
=40000{1331-1210/1000}
=40000{121/1000}
=40×121
=4840
